Hope you all had a good weekend. I know I did. What and adventurous Saturday! (adventorous? adventerous? OOPS.)
We went out to breakfast, and then I took my brothers home whilst Momma Bear and the Big Kahuna went to Wal-Mart to get a Tandum bike my dad had ordered. That's one of those fancy two-seater bicycles. He set it up Saturday... at least, when he had time. He and Momma Bear are excited to take it for a test drive. Me and the boys were very much jealous.
Then, while they were at Wal-Mart, we do Saturday work. That's when we clean the house. The only good thing about that is I get to listen to my music. Really nice. Anyway, Momma Bear and the Big Kahuna come home, and we have a little something to eat, and it's off to Murray! There lies the Humane Society, which we love and adore. See, we have one pesky dog, an American Husky mix, and he's just the... funniest dog per se. Very dumb. Well... we could argue that point all day long.
Anyway, we wanted a friend for him. We found one black lab, two years old by the name of Daisy. She was cute. Not too big. The only concern was she used to get out of the yard with her previous owner. Well, we'd had so much trouble with that before that we said, "No". We would however, try a couple of other dogs. But first, we had to see if our dog, Raffie, would get along with the new dog. So back home we go. Momma Bear was tired, so she stayed while everyone else went.
We tried another dog, but Raffie was being a snob, and kept barking at that dog. So we took that one back in. We came out with another smaller one, a Schnauzer mix, and almost immediately Raffie did NOT take to him. It was terrible. So back goes the little one. The Big Kahuna goes back in, and manages to find another one.
Her name was Molly. She was a Border Collie/Labrador Mix, and I believe she is two years old. BINGO!!!! Raffie didn't bother with her much, so we decided, "OK." He was preoccupied with other dogs. What a meanie-face. Anyway, we bring her home, and we're discussing names. Roxie? Nope. Missy? Too 'lady-like'. "How about Belle?" Big Kahuna suggest. Everyone agrees, and Belle it is.
She has yet to really know her name, although I think she's getting the idea. We bought her a new collar (purple), and she's just so cute! She doesn't bark unless she wants to come in (we have to leave the dogs outside for allergy purposes, although they are let in on occasion), and is a very docile dog. She's just right for us. Yesterday (Sunday), we took her out for a walk. She was really pulling on the leash, but she'll get used to the idea.
Raffie is EXTREMELY jealous. Anytime we call her so we can pet her, he'll come scurrying over as well, hoping to get in on the 'pet-age'. He barks constantly when we're talking to her. He's a very jealous twerp.
As soon as I get a picture, I'll post it.
awwww....can't wait to see.
