Sorry, I'm late. Just wait and see.
As many of you know, Sunday was Mother's Day. I have to give a big shout-out to my mom. She's just an AMAZING woman, and I honestly and truly would not be the person I am today without her. Nor, for that matter, would any of my other close family members. My dad, my brothers, heck, even my grandmother (her mom). She has truly changed our lives.
She came straight from Mexico, met my dad in a spanish speaking singles ward (he went to puerto rico on his 2-year 'religious tour'), and they got married. I was born the year after that. Well, it is simply amazing the things mothers can do. Kudos to all you moms reading this! I have seen how tough it can be, especially if you have two or more kids. My mom works full time to help support our family, and I think she is simply amazing.
She has lots of talent, and not just cooking and cleaning, but lots and lots of patience (something I have yet to learn). Some of the food she makes is simply to die for... literally. About every other Sunday she makes her mashed potatoes, something the WHOLE family looks forward to. She knows how to make almost everything perfect. Yes, she and I get into arguments, but what mother and daughter don't?
She lets me go be with my friends almost any time I want to (so long as I check in with her and/or my dad). Plus, I get to use her car. I really enjoy spending time with her. Sometimes we fantasize of running away, leaving the boys behind, because who needs 'em? (Okay, we don't REALLY think like that)
So anyway, I thought I'd let you all know how cool my mom is.
she is way cool and a "girls only vacation" sounds dreamy right about now...
