Birthdays and Contests

Well, first of all I have to say: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY!!!" In case you couldn't tell, It's my dad's birthday today (I won't say how old he is, though). He got almost everything he wanted. My dad is sort of a kid. He asked for CD's, and a comic book, dvd's... so maybe he doesn't sound like a kid, but trust me, he is. He likes to play with Lego's, and video games. He has so much funs with my brothers, too. Not that there's anything wrong with that. (NOTE: This picture is of Momma Bear and The Big Kahuna at a cousin's wedding. Aren't they just so cute together? 17 years and counting.) Anyhoo...

Today, in my first period class (World civ.), we watched a movie. We are currently studying the revolution of France, and we're actually just starting the unit, so it's a movie we're 'kicking off' with. I don't know the name of the movie (something really cheesy, I'm sure). Anyway, it starts, and they have the "FBI WARNING" sign flashing... yes, flashing, and like, 27 different colors. That was just the title. Like the FBI is supposed to be 'fun' and 'flashy'? Yeah, right. So then the REAL credits start rolling, starting with the company that filmed or created the movie. Well, guess what? It lets you know it's an educational video. In BIG, BOLD letters, it says "EDUCATIONAL VIDEO!", with fireworks going off in the back ground.

So, now we're supposed to ENJOY educational videos? OH. MY. GOSH. I just about collapsed from keeping my laughter in. I could NOT believe it.

Anyway, last week was "National Library Week" or something like that. My librarian, probably one of the coolest librarians ANYWHERE, decided to have a drawing. You wrote your name down, your student number (series of numbers that students use for alot of things, like accessing your student lunch account, or even logging on to your grades), and your grade. So, it was really exciting, and I don't think many students entered, because

1. I didn't see many people enter the contest (but I don't hang around the library 24/7)

2. The people that did win, I saw enter (or I would guess would enter) their name into the box.

But I won. Me, and like, three of my friends won. We got our choice of either: $5-Barnes & Nobles, OR $5-Keva Juice. I LOVE both of them, but I ended up choosing Barnes & Nobles. Yes, I'm a dork, and Yes, I love to read.
